Scalextric have cleverly remodelled their boxed layouts in recent years. With a variety of different layouts available according to your budget, every layout allows the addition of one of the four track packs that Scalextric produce. The track packs represent better value for money than purchasing the items separately. All box sets offer a selection of items pieces so whatever you are looking to add to your layout there should be one for you. Retail prices range from £22.50 to £42.50 with the low prices they can be a great present for birthdays or Christmas.

The most expensive item is the Scalextric ultimate track extension pack C8514. This box set is by far the best value for money and retails for £42.50. Scalextric have combined track pack 2 C8511 and 3 C8512 to create the Ultimate track extension C8514. The box set will add about 7ft to your layout. This is bigger than some sets so the value for money is very evident.

The items that are included are as follows:

The whole item creates a long loop that can be added to your existing layout in one large piece or split in to two sections as per the track extension packs 2 and 3. The track pack contains a radius 1 hairpin a leap and a pair of sideswipes or chicane. With the items that are contained in the pack it creates an action packed section of track with a leap to finish.

We would recommend that if you have a digital track then do not place the ramp on the extension pack as the leap can deprogram the digital cars on occasions and interrupt your racing.

Even without the inclusion of the ramp with your digital layout we would still recommend buying this Scalextric ultimate track extension pack C8514 to anyone due to the cheap price that it is offered at.
